Several European countries marked Holocaust Memorial Day with speeches that denounced modern-day anti-Semitism. “Anti-Semitism is not limited to the past,” Peter Schieder, an Austrian lawmaker, told the Council of Europe’s Parliamentary Assembly in Strasbourg, France. “We cannot be silent. We must deplore” incidents of anti-Semitism in Europe.
