Israel urged Palestinian laborers coming from the Gaza Strip to shun terrorism. “We urge you to unite against these terrorists harming your livelihoods,” read a pamphlet issued Thursday by the army to some 17,000 laborers who pass through the Erez border crossing to jobs in Israel. Several recent Palestinian attacks have prompted heightened security at Erez.
