The head of Israel’s Mossad foreign intelligence service had his tenure extended. Security sources said Tuesday that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert asked Meir Dagan to stay on as Mossad chief until late 2008, a year more than the standard five-year term. Olmert is said to be pleased with the achievements of Dagan, a former covert military commander, in tracking Iran’s nuclear program and international Islamist terrorism.
