Iran launched its first space rocket. The Iranian Aerospace Research Center announced Sunday it had launched what is believed to be a variation of its Shehab-3 missile into space. Iran’s space program is closely watched by the West as the technology used could also be applied for military developments. The nuclear-capable Shehab-3 has a range of 1,250 miles, enough to reach Israel and some of Europe, and Israel believes Iran wants to extend the range.
