Israel’s Home Front Command launched Arabic- and English-language versions of its Web site.
The Home Front Command, which is responsible for protecting Israel’s citizens during wartime, announced Sunday that its Web site, www.oref.org.il, now has Arabic and English translations.
During last year’s Lebanon war, many Israeli Arabs whose communities were in range of Hezbollah rocket salvos complained of insufficient information from the government on where and how to take shelter.
“The Home Front Command, which sees great importance in the relations with the Israeli population, is now in the frontline of technology,” command chief Maj.-Gen. Yitzhak Gershon said in a statement. “The newWweb site reflects the lessons learned from the Second Lebanon War.”
