Five Jordanians are on trial in Amman on charges of spying on Israeli installations for Hamas.

Proceedings opened in a Jordanian military court Monday against five men accused of undergoing military training in a Hamas camp abroad and collecting information for the radical Palestinian Islamist group about Israeli border facilities.

The defendants, two of whom are of Palestinian descent, are also accused of having received orders from Hamas to spy on the Israeli Embassy in Amman. They have denied all charges.
