Israel reopened its border with the Gaza Strip after a daylong halt due to Palestinian cross-border shellings.
The Karni and Sufa commercial crossings and the Nahal Oz fuel-transfer depot resumed operations Wednesday after repeatedly being closed since an Egyptian-brokered Gaza truce began June 19.
The cease-fire was violated by Palestinian terrorists who fired rockets and mortar bombs across the border. Gaza’s Hamas rulers promised a crackdown on such violators and urged Egypt to prevail on Israel to keep the border open.
