An Israeli start-up was sold to a U.S.-based firm for $107 million.
Ra’anana-based Qumranet, which specializes in virtual infrastructure platforms, was acquired Thursday by Red Hat Inc., a Linux software company with headquarters in Raleigh, N.C. It is Red Hat’s first purchase in Israel, according to the Israeli daily Globes.
The companies have been collaborating for a few months.
Four men who had achieved high-tech success founded Qumranet in 2005. They are Benny Schnaider, its chief executive officer; Rami Tamir, president; Moshe Bar, chief technical officer; and Dr. Giora Yaron, chairman.
