WASHINGTON (JTA) — A reporter who approached President Obama to ask for an autograph works for a politically conservative Jewish Web site.
Robert Feuereisen, who works for the New York-based Jewish World Review, was escorted out of the Feb. 4 signing of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program bill by Secret Service agents after jumping the rope separating reporters from invited guests, Politico reported.
Binyamin Jolkovsky, editor of the site, told Politico that Feuereisen’s 12-year-old son had bought an inaugural magazine and "his kid just drove him crazy" to get Obama’s signature. He said Feuereisen had been working in the White House for more than 10 years and received a warning but did not lose his credentials.
"He’s harmless, to put it mildly," Jolkovsky said.
Jolkovsky’s site primarily prints opinion articles from conservative political commentators and prominent rabbis, among others.
