WASHINGTON (JTA) — Britain banned entry to a spokesman for Hezbollah.

Ibrahim Moussawi had been scheduled to speak later this month on political Islam at London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.

The Daily Mail’s Web site on Friday reported that Home Secretary Jacqui Smith concluded that Moussawi’s presence in Britain would not be "conducive to the public good."

Smith had allowed Moussawi to enter twice in the past, but the Mail reported that there were political pressures to ban his entry in the wake of a recent similar ban on Geert Wilders, a Dutch lawmaker who has called for banning the Koran.

Moussawi has worked as a political editor for media run by the Lebanese terrorist group.
