WASHINGTON (JTA) — A Jewish community security network will help Jewish camps deal with the swine flu virus.
The Secure Community Network will be convening a pandemic planning and response conference call on Wednesday afternoon to "address the steps camps can take to prevent, contain, and mitigate the spread and impact of H1N1 flu among their camps," according to a news release.
The call will include experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide recommendations and answer questions.
Jewish camps across the country have reported numerous outbreaks of the H1N1 virus since the summer began. About 100 cases of flu-like symptoms were reported at one camp in Georgia, and two Reform movement camps delayed the start of their summer sessions.
