Is President Obama a supporter of Israel deep down in his kishkes? That’s the question that has been asked over and over for the past several years. The Democratic National Committee’s chair, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, was emphatic in her insistence that Jews have nothing to worry about when it comes to the president’s guts:
As Jews, we really care about what’s in your kishkas. We want to look into someone’s heart and know where they stand and that they stand with us. And I’ve looked into Barack Obama’s heart and his kishkas. I know that he feels the issues that are important to us. I’ve seen what’s in his kishkas, and I know that this is a mensch that we have in the White House.
Florida’s Sun-Sentinel reports on the Democrats’ efforts to reassure Jewish retirees. (Perhaps Wasserman Schultz should have also said that she saw a pastrami on rye in Obama’s kishkes.)
