KISS version of Angry Birds in the making

Remember when rock bands were non-conformist rebels? Yeah, it was a long time ago. KISS, led by Israeli-born Gene Simmons, has shed its rebellious roots and is looking to get its white-painted faces marked by a new imprint — Angry Birds.

Angry Birds is that mobile game everybody seems to be playing on the subway, were you use a slingshot to fire birds at pigs. It costs 99 cents, so naturally most people use the free version and then get upset when they can’t play more levels.

Anyway, Gene Simmons told Industry Gamers that he wwants to take the already expanded KISS brand to the online gaming industry: “We’re talking with Angry Birds, KISS and Angry Birds, which will become a deal.”

Simmons uses a perfect branding opportunity he has already achieved – a KISS Hello Kitty: “So Hello Kitty is one of the biggest brands on planet Earth. Now there’s KISS Hello Kitty, which we’ve already launched in 90 countries.”

Am I the only person who is really excited about this? I was all ready to use Hello Kitty as a joke about what’s next, but I guess that they already did it.
