More Barry Freundel revelations

This weekend, the Washington Post published a lengthy article on Barry Freundel, the Washington rabbi accused of using hidden cameras to spy on women in the mikvah.

For readers who have been following the case closely in the Jewish media, the article doesn’t break much new ground. However, it does reveal two previously unreported issues: One was that “at one point there were enough people bad-mouthing Freundel” at his Orthodox synagogue, Kesher Israel, “that some board members drafted a document calling for an end to criticism of the rabbi.”

Many will find the article’s other revelation disturbing: Freundel owns an apartment in Jerusalem next door to a mikvah.
