Updates with Elijah arrival, expect Matzah Brei sidebar for PMs

I came from a big wire service (AP) to a little one (JTA.) Friends often ask me the difference.

Today, more than five years into the job, I hit on it. Before there was an internet, wire services had perfected the first, second and third leads, the update, the late breaking item.

We prided ourselves on our speed, we distinguished ourselves from the tortoise-like one-story-a-day pace of our colleagues at the dailies: "Tops with two grafs to UPDATE with captain rescued;" "LEADS with Tuesday jobless figures."

So now, Marc Brodsky just sent out an update on Eric’s story on the White House seder, with this note:

UPDATE: This version of a story sent April 13 updates with comments by Susan Sher and the grafs about the macaroons.

The macaroons.

Ed’s note: Canvassing guests for reax. Graphics team working on "dry/tasty/when is this holiday over?" chart.
