The entire engineering student body of the Israel Institute of Technology, numbering some 1,700, has begun five days of volunteer fortification work at Israel’s border settlements. The students were joined by the Institute’s teachers and employees whose organizations issued calls for their members to follow suit.

Welcoming the students initiative, General Yaacov Dori president, declared that the Institute would be closed for the period, concerned. All students received medical examinations to insure their fitness for the strenuous work involved.
