A hunger-strike in protest against the seven-year ban on admissions to the law profession under a recent law was launched today by 200 Jewish candidates for the bar on the premises of the Jewish physicians’ Union.

A campaign for the abolition of “ghetto benches” in Polish universities has been started by democratic student organizations in the form of individual letters to the Minister of Education from students demanding ” in the name of justice, civil equality and human and national dignity” the abolition of the segregation decree. Several thousands of such letters have already been sent.
