4 Attacks on IDF in South Lebanon

A military spokesman reported four separate attacks on Israel Defense Force soldiers in south Lebanon today. There were no casualties. Two grenades were thrown at an IDF patrol near Sidon this morning. An explosive charge detonated this afternoon on a roadside near the Ansar detention camp. A grenade was thrown at an IDF patrol near Nabatiyeh.

Considerable tension was reported in and around Marjayoun where plans are being made for the funeral of Maj. Saad Haddad, commander of the Christian militia who died yesterday. (See separate story.) Security precautions were tight. Persons coming to Marjayoun to view Haddad’s body lying in state were searched.
