The Marine Flasher, completing its third voyage as a refugee ship, today docked here with 649 refugees, the fifth group to enter under President Truman’s directive facilitating immigration to the United States from the American zone of Germany.
Over 370 of the refugees embarked at Bremen, while another group of 272 refugees including 17 orphans from Belgium were picked up when the vessel stopped at Le Havre en route to this country. The refugees were met by their families, friends and representatives of the Joint Distribution Committee, which advanced or paid passage for 442 of the immigrants; the Hias, which also paid the expenses of many of the passengers; and the National Refugee Service.
