On the occasion of the birthday of Queen Wilhelmina, knighthoods were conferre on prominent Jews of Holland. Those honored are: Dr. M. Polak, member of the Supreme Court of Justice at The Hague, Chief Rabbi Hirsch of Zwolle, Mr. J. W. Belinfante, Administrator of the Provincial Legislature of South Holland, Madame van den Begh-Willing, a well-known philanthropist, M. Boasson, banker at Middleburgh, the President of the Amsterdam Diamond Exchange and G. van Dam, prominent Amsterdam merchant.
S. E. J. van Lier has been appointed Advocate General of the High Court of Justice at The Hague.
