In a dramatic display of interreligious cooperation, the American Jewish Committee presented checks of $10,000 each to Catholic, Protestant and Jewish relief agencies working to aid Cambodian refugees and Vietnamese boat people. The $30,000 contribution was mode by Richard Moass, outgoing president of the AJ Committee, at a session last Friday of the organization’s 74th annual meeting here.
Moass explained that the funds had been contributed by individual members of the AJ Committee. In addition, he stated, AJ Committee chapters in many communities had forged interfaith conditions, arranged for teach-ins and press conferences, undertaken fundraising functions, and called for state and local government response to the plight of the Indochinese refugees.
