A French anti-racist leader was attacked near Paris while speaking at a debate organized by a Jewish community organization. Moulid Aounit, secretary general of the Movement Against Racism and for Friendship Between Peoples, or MRAP, was speaking at a debate in Saint Mande, east of Paris, on Thursday night alongside Jewish author Marek Halter when around 10 masked youths burst into the building and began insulting him.
