A team of unemployed Germans is helping to restore the National Cemetery at the Terezin Memorial in the Czech Republic. The memorial at the transit ghetto was badly damaged during last August’s floods. The 14-member group started clearing ground for 3,000 new rose bushes under an initiative proposed by the Hamburg-based Labor and Learning Association.
