About 1000 demonstrators gathered Wednesday afternoon at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza to express solidarity with Israel. Despite the pouring rain the demonstrators marched to the Israeli Consulate, several blocks away, and conducted a solidarity rally. They carried with them nine torches made out of helmets in the shape of a Chanukah menorah. The rally was sponsored by the American Zionist Federation.
