The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith is asking the Democratic and Republican parties to seek provisions for federal action to bolster civil rights and strengthen safeguards against their violations.

Benjamin R. Epstein, ADL national director, said that proposals for those objectives had been submitted to the Democratic party platform committee and, would be submitted to the Republican platform committee.

Mr. Epstein said the ADL had also proposed liberalization of United States immigration laws, and was urging the United States Government to “use its powers to prevent foreign governments from carrying out religious discrimination.” The government, he said, “should refuse to participate in any international agreement of any kind which authorizes denying American citizens the right to equal treatment guaranteed them by our constitution.”
