Emulating the Pcale Agudas Israel of Britain, the Agudas Israel Organization today announced its intention of holding a separate fundraising campaign of its own in this country. The Orthodox group announced also that Rabbi Shlomo Lorence, a member of the Knesset and head of the Agudah youth movement in Israel, will arrive here late this week to open the campaign.
The Jewish Agency, which has already issued statements opposing the independent campaign announced by the religious laborites, today said that it had received a cable from its Jerusalem headquarters pointing out that the present budget of the Keren Hayesod, financial arm of the Agency, had allocated 719,590 pounds for the maintenance of religious youth immigration and religious schools beside an additional 33,000 to other religious bodies.
