This all-Moslem town, which boasts that not a single Jew lives here, is in the grip of an economic crisis. Despite the general boom days in Palestine, particularly where Jews have settled, the Arabs of Nablus are complaining about bad times.

Inhabitants of the town blame the town authorities for their troubles, accusing the officials of paying too much attention to useless pan-Arab politics, and not enough to economic realities. Nablus citizens expressed their envy of Jaffa Arabs, who have become enriched through their association with the Jews and Jewish enterprise.
