The new administration and farm mechanics building erected at the National Farm School was named the Herbert D. Allman Building Sunday, as a tribute to the president of the school, Herbert D. Allman of Philadelphia.
The naming of the building was timed to coincide with Mr. Allman’s seventieth birthday and the nineteenth year of his connection with the school. He has been president of the institution, founded by the late Dr. Joseph Krauskopf, for seven years.
A portrait of Mr. Allman, painted by Max Raditz of Philadelphia, was unveiled. It was presented by Adolf Eicholz, a trustee of the school. Addresses were delivered by Dean C. L. Goodling, Louis Schlessinger and Israel Goodman.
