Philip W, Lown, New England communal leader, has accepted the chairmanship of the Founders Fund Committee of the American Jewish League for Israel, it was announced today by Ezra Z, Shapiro, the League’s president. Serving with Mr. Lown, as associate chairmen will be Joseph M. Mazer, of New York, and Samuel H. Daroff, of Philadelphia, co-treasurers of the League.
The Founders Fund was established by the executive committee of the League. The purpose of the Fund is to enable the newly founded organization to proceed with implementation of its program, pending the development of its membership structure, A committee of 25 business, industrial and professional leaders, drawn from all parts of the country, will assist Mr. Lown in building up the Founders Fund, the announcement said.
