West Germany’s refusal to extend the statute of limitations for Nazi war crimes beyond the May 8, 1965 deadline was sharply criticised last night by Dr. Joachim Prinz, president of the American Jewish Congress. Addressing a meeting of the organization’s national governing council here, Dr. Prinz called the recent Bonn decision to retain the statute of limitations “a callous affrout to world opinion and a shocking reminder that the moral rehabilitation of the German people is yet to be achieved.” G. Irving Dwork, national secretary of the Congress, announced at the meeting that the organization would launch a nationwide effort to counter increasing activities by radical rightist organizations.
