An Israeli helicopter fired on a Palestinian car in the West Bank, killing a senior member of Yasser Arafat’s Tanzim militia and wounding at least five others. Israeli troops said they had identified armed members of the militia preparing to fire on them close to an entrance to the town of Beit Sahour.
