More than 4,000 high school students today stoned German residences, but were prevented from demonstrating in front of the German Legation by police, who dispersed them with tear gas and sabre blows. The youths sped through the streets, singing the Uruguayan anthem and La Marseillaise, and demonstrated before the French Legation and the French High School.
