The Arab countries represented at the United Nations may ask for a debate on the status of Jerusalem at the U. N. General Assembly which is scheduled to open in September, it was indicated here today.
The provisional agenda for the Assembly, which was made public several days ago, does not provide for any discussion of the Jerusalem issue. However, it was pointed out today that a political item on the Palestine question can be included at the last moment before the Assembly starts its session.
The provisional agenda includes only one item of particular interest to Israel. The item deals with the question of the Palestine refugees and provides for a report by the director of the U. N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.
