Archaeological finds dating back to the earliest period of Canaanite Jerusalem were discovered in this season’s excavations in Jerusalem’s City of David, Prof. Yigal Shiloh, head of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Institute of Archaeology and director of the excavations, told journalists at a press tour. These finds date back to the earliest settlement of Jerusalem in the theird millenium BCE.
