New anti-Jewish violence flared in Buenos Aires today, when bombs were thrown by unknown assailants against two Jewish-owned buildings. There were no injuries, and damages were slight. Police did not seize any suspects in the new attacks.
The first bomb was thrown against a Jewish cooperative, and the second at a building that formerly housed the Jewish daily newspaper. Die Presse. The bombers apparently were ignorant of the fact that the newspaper moved to a building a block away, eight months ago. A car parked in front of the building was slightly damaged.
(In London, R. N. Carvalho, president of the Anglo-Jewish Association, led a delegation which presented to the Argentine Ambassador there this weekend a memorandum sharply protesting the wave of anti-semitic manifestations in Argentina. The memorandum pointed out that anti-Semitic propaganda and incidents in Argentina had increased in the last two years. The delegation expressed the hope and “trust that the Argentinian Government will take immediate steps” to halt anti-Semitism.)
