The Argentine Catholic daily El Pueblo commenting on the Communist anti-Jewish drive, today called for a united front among all groups which are “oppressed on religious grounds” to fight back against the Communists.

In the first comment on the Communist drive by a Latin American Catholic paper, El Pueblo suggested that the way was prepared for the anti-Jewish campaign because there was no uproar over the Communist drive against the Catholics. It criticized the Jews for not rallying to the support of the Catholics when they were victims, although the ”Vatican did protect the Jews when necessary” in Germany and Italy.
