Election of Isaac L. Asofsky, executive director of the HIAS, as vice-president of CARE, the Co-operative for American Remittances to Europe, was announced today. Mr. Asofsky has represented HIAS on the CARE board of directors since last March when HIAS became a member agency of the food remittance agency.
Paul Conly French, executive director of CARE said that with the aid of HIAS, CARE had delivered 29,000 food and textiles packages in Israel with an aggregate value of $300,000 from April 1 to September 30.
