Henry Byroade, United States Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, today conferred with Premier David Ben Gurion here, after spending a day in Jerusalem yesterday.
While in Jerusalem, which he entered from the Arab-held Old City, Secretary Byroade called on Director General Walter Eytan of the Israel Foreign Office and indicated that he would shortly hold a political conversation with the representatives of the Israel Government on “current affairs.” According to well-informed sources, the conversation concentrated on American aid to Israel. Mr. Byroade also paid a call Israel Minister of Finance Eliezer Kaplan.
