An abortive attempt over the week-end to kill the Assistant Superintendent of the Palestine police force, Geoffrey Morton, was revealed here today.

As Morton’s car was passing a spot near his home on the road between Tel Aviv and Sarona a land mine, detonated by a person hiding in a nearby grove, exploded, seriously damaging the car but not harming Morton and his wife and two constables who were accompanying him. The person who exploded the mine was not captured.
