Likud leader Menachem Beigin was discharged from Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv today. He was hospitalized 3 1/2 weeks ago after a heart attack. His condition was complicated when he developed pneumonia, his doctors said. Beigin left for a two-week convalescence period. Afterwards, his doctors said, he could return to regular activity. On his last day in the hospital, Beigin was actively involved in efforts to persuade Ariel Sharon to rejoin Likud. But he finally has to give in to an ultimatum from the Liberals, who did not want Sharon on the Likud list.
