Ben Gurion Criticizes Young Judea on Emigration of Youth from U.S.

The Young Judea movement in the United States was severely criticized today by Israel Premier David Ben Gurion for not encouraging emigration of American Jewish youth to Israel, He said that Young Judea’s allegation of hacking Zionist and Jewish slogans arc not borne out by fads, since the organization “does not fulfill its youth emigration aims.” He spoke at a convention of the Israel Boy Scout movement attended by Young Judea representatives.

The Jewish Agency reported today that a total of 1,000 young Zionists have con-e to Israel for a year a pioneer work in Border settlements in the three years since the plan was started by the Agency. Four hundred came from Argentina, 180 from South Africa. 60 each from Canada and the United States, and the remainder from other countries. One hundred of the thousand people settled permanently in farm settlements.
