Berlin Mayor Condemns Nazi Atrocities at Jewish Meeting

Ernst Reuter, Mayor of Berlin, addressing a meeting here commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto revolt, declared today that the German people must never forget “the shameful deeds perpetrated in our name” by the Nazis. Not every German can be blamed for the murder of millions of Jews, he declared, but all Germans bear responsibility for making amends.
