The 39th annual convention of B’nai Zion, which opened here last night and will conclude tomorrow, today heard the chairman of the convention committee, Harry A. Pine, tell the several hundred delegates that “we do not know what the truce will bring, but this we know–no power on earth can destroy the Jewish state.”

Dr. Harris J. Levine, chairman of the organization’s Israel committee, reported that during the past year $115,000–a record sum–was raised through the Order for the Jewish National Fund. Members of B’nai Zion, he said, “continued to make the largest per capita contribution to the J.N.F. among all organized Zionists’ in the U.S. Dr. Emanuel Neumann, president of the Zionist organization of America, was scheduled to address the convention at a late evening session.
