The American Jewish Committee asserted today that the recent bombings in Mississippi, including the night bombing of the Jackson home of Rabbi Perry Nussbaum, constituted “a purposeful reign of intimidation.”
Nathan Perlmutter, national affairs director of the Committee, called for “round-the-clock investigations by local and federal authorities.” He cited the “string of terror bombings of St. Paul’s Church Parsonage in Laurel, Miss., and the Jackson residencies of Methodist lay leader R. B. Kochitzky and of Rabbi Nussbaum, all within a week.”
