Brazil’s president attended the 50th anniversary ceremony of a Jewish hospital in Sao Paulo. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday celebrated the 50th anniversary of Albert Einstein Hospital, one of Brazil’s most prestigious medical institutions. Lula gave a speech to the mostly Jewish audience. Several other Jewish and non-Jewish government officials attended the event. Lula praised the hospital’s community projects, and received a statue featuring a Star of David.
