A tour of the United States to stimulate the collection of $7,000,000 to enable the Joint Distribution Committee to carry out its reconstruction program will be made by David A. Brown, national chairman of the United Jewish Campaign. This will be the fifth tour of the country by Mr. Brown since he became chairman of the United Jewish Campaign in June, 1925.
Mr. Brown’s tour is a result of the Constructive Relief Conference of the United Jewish Campaign and the Joint Distribution Committee in Chicago when it was pointed out by Felix Warburg. Paul Baerwald, Herbert H. Lehman, and other officers of the Joint Distribution Committee, and by Dr. Joseph A. Rosen, head of that body’s agricultural work in Russia, that unless at least $7,500,000 more in cash was secured for the purposes of relief and reconstructive work overseas by the end of 1928. the J.D.C. would be unable to carry out its program.
