Canada will commemorate the founding of the Canadian Jewish Congress with a plaque on the site of the group’s first assembly in Montreal. The 1919 event will be listed in a national historic registry per an announcement last week by Stephane Dion, a federal Cabinet minister, on the recommendation of the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.
