Canal Zone Remains Quiet; Terrorist Activities Flare Along Syrian-lebanese Borders

The Suez Canal front remained quiet 24 hours after the cease fire expired but terrorist activity flared along the Syrian and Jordanian borders. An Israeli soldier was wounded in a bazooka attack on Nahal Golan in the Golan Heights this morning. Katyusha rockets were fired last night near Kuneitra and Merom Hagolan Kibbutz. No casualties were reported. Settlers in the southern Beisan region were forced to take to their bomb shelters last night under a volley of rocket fire from Jordan. Israeli forces returned the fire with mortars. No casualties were reported. An Arab terrorist was killed in a clash with an Israeli patrol near Har Dov on the Lebanese border this morning There were no Israeli casualties.
