Columbia Heights Jewess 1st Woman on School Board

Mrs. J. S. Blumenthal of this city was elected to membership on the board of education of Independent School District No. 65, consisting of Columbia Heights. She will be the first woman member in the school board’s history.

Mrs. Blumenthal, wife of Dr. J. S. Blumenthal, taught in the Oakwood school in this city for five years before her marriage. Mother of two children, she has been active as a member of the Oakwood Mothers Club and the Parent-Teacher organization of the school. She also is a member of the League of Women Voters and of the American Legion Auxiliary.
