Actual construction of the University-Hadassah-Rothschild Medical Center at Mt. Scopus started today following an impressive ceremony in which the faculty of the Hebrew University and outstanding Jewish leaders of Palestine participated.
Henrietta Szold, founder of Hadassah, addressed the assemblage, stating that although she was at the exercises her soul was with the thousands of women who had started Hadassah and were continuing their support.
The Jewish Physician’s Organization announced that the first building, now being constructed, would be a nurses’ home bearing the name of Miss Szold and would be ready within twenty months.
Another speaker was Dr. Judah L. Magnes, president of the University, who delivered a special prayer. Greetings were sent to the Hadassah convention in Philadelphia.
